Blue Light (480nm) Blue light at 480nm penetrates only the uppermost layer of the skin (the epidermis). In skincare, blue wavelengths are widely used for their antibacterial properties, specifically neutralizing the bacteria responsible for acne breakouts and helping to calm active, superficial skin infections. Beyond the skin, when this specific wavelength enters the eye, it is highly effective at stimulating the brain's circadian clock - suppressing melatonin production to naturally boost daytime alertness, mood, and cognitive function.

Red Light (630nm, 660nm) These wavelengths penetrate slightly deeper, reaching the dermis layer of the skin. Here, the light is absorbed by the mitochondria (the powerhouses of the cells), which stimulates a significant increase in the production of cellular energy known as ATP. This cellular boost accelerates tissue repair, ramps up collagen and elastin production, and improves local blood circulation.
