What bulb does it take, and is it included?
One E26 bulb, not included. Max 15W LED — but that's the LED wattage, not the light output. A 15W LED is equivalent to roughly a 100W incandescent bulb, which is plenty for a single pendant over an island or dining table. For warm light go 2700K, for a brighter cooler look go 3000K. The glass globe will soften whatever bulb you use.
What are the exact dimensions?
Shade diameter: 25.59 inches (650 mm). Max total height from ceiling to bottom of shade: 64.17 inches (1630 mm). Height is fully adjustable — you set the exact drop during install.
How high should I hang it above the table or island?
Around 28 to 34 inches from the surface to the bottom of the shade is standard. At 25.5 inches wide the shade already has strong visual presence, so hanging it at the lower end of that range (28–30 inches) works well for most kitchen islands. Higher if you want the light to spread wider.
Can I use two over a longer island?
Yes. Two SLATE pendants work well over islands or tables longer than 6 feet. Space them roughly a third in from each end of the surface. At 25.5 inches each they'll overlap visually in the middle which looks intentional rather than gapped.
What colours are available?
Black, Green, Brick, and Beige. Black is the most versatile — works in almost any interior. Green and Brick are statement colours that suit mid-century and eclectic spaces. Beige reads warm and neutral. Check the variant selector for current availability as not all colours are always in stock.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, with an external dimmer switch or dimmable smart bulbs. No integrated dimmer in the fixture, so you can use whatever system you already have.
What is the shade made from?
Metal shade with a glass globe at the centre. The glass globe is integrated into the fixture — it's part of the design, not a separate accessory.
Is it approved for Canadian electrical code?
Yes. UL listed for both the USA and Canada (cUL), so it passes inspection and won't cause issues with insurance or a home sale.
Do I need an electrician?
It's a hardwired fixture that requires installation. If you're replacing an existing ceiling light on the same box, many people handle it themselves. If you're adding a new box or moving the location, use a licensed electrician.
